The aim of this course is to provide authorised persons the knowledge and understanding of the the safe and effective management of medical gas systems installed in healthcare premises (HTM02-01).
- Introduction to HTM 02-01
- Statutory obligations and other guidance
- Gas safety and safe system operation;
- Design and installation requirements;
- Effective system management using the Permit to Work System
- Management of Competent Person’s work and contracts;
- Auditing and reporting on system compliance, capacity and limitations
- Risk analysis and prioritisation of remedial actions.
- Dealing effectively with emergencies
- Testing and quality control requirements.
- Operational policy preparation, implementation and monitoring
The course content will provide a revision of all of the above elements but stress will be placed on the management aspects of the AP's role e.g. use of the Permit to Work System and MGPS audit. For those trained as an AP before the release of HTM 02-01 in 2006, content will provide an essential update.
This course is aimed at delegates who are looking to complete their three- yearly refresher training of the HTM01-01 Syllabus. This course would be best suited to those practicing Authorised Persons who have previously completed the HTM02-01 course.
For those delegates who are looking to qualify initially as an Authorised person, responsible for medical gas, you would be best suited to take the following course:
Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a BTEC Level 4 certificate.
