The private security industry is a rapidly growing sector. This is the perfect time to obtain your training to apply for your SIA licence as there is a significant shortage in the industry. This course will enable a delegate with a currently active SIA Door Supervisor licence to renew their licence and continue work within licensed premises such as bars, pubs, stadiums, hotels and clubs.
Pre-Requisites:
A Level 2 First Aid course must be booked, undertaken and passed prior to booking this course. Evidence of this will be required.
The Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) Security e-learning course must be completed prior to undertaking this course.
This 2-day course will revisit and ensure competency within the following units to enable continuation of work within licensed premises:
- Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
- Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry
This course is suitable for anyone wishing to renew their existing L2 Door Supervisor licence to continue working in the frontline of the private security industry. A licensed Door Supervisor can then apply for jobs in licensed premises.
Delegates must:
- have completed their L2 Door Supervisor course no less than 3 years prior to the Top-Up course start date. Anyone wishing to renew their Door Supervisor licence after expiry must retake the L2 Door Supervisor course.
- hold an SIA Door Supervisor licence which is currently valid.
- be 18 years or older
- have a level 1 competency in spoken and written English to attend this course. If you have any concerns regarding this element please contact 0345 605 0006.
- currently hold a First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate, valid for at least 12 months from the course start date. Please note that when applying for your licence after completing training, the SIA do not accept online-only First Aid training. If you wish to book onto a First Aid course, you can do so here.
Physical activity will be involved as part of this course. if you have any concerns about your health or fitness to participate in this training, it should be brought to our attention before booking the course.
Upon successful completion of this course, a certificate accredited by Highfield will be issued.
