This course is intended as a refresher for delegates with extensive experience in the installation, inspection, and removal of shoring systems. It is structured as an ASSESSMENT ONLY course.
Delegates will be required to successfully complete both theoretical and practical assessments based on their prior knowledge; no additional formal training is provided through the assessment-only route.
Delegates attending this course MUST either hold an in-date EUSR Categories 3, 4, & 5 qualification or have expired within the last 6 months in order to be eligible to attend this refresher training.
The assessment will cover the following topics:
- Identify the dangers and hazards associated with working in excavations.
- Differentiate between soil types and conditions.
- Recognise suitable ground retention systems.
- Carry out risk assessments unique to excavations.
- Recognise the hazards and implement control measures for those hazards.
- Be able to safely install, inspect, and remove timber, steel, and proprietary shoring equipment with practical experience in doing so.
- Interpret specific temporary work designs.
This course is aimed at those who are HIGHLY EXPERIENCED in the installation, inspection, and removal of shoring systems.
Delegates attending this course MUST either hold an in-date EUSR Categories 3, 4, & 5 qualification or have expired within the last 6 months in order to be eligible to attend this refresher training.
Anyone needing to renew and refresh their qualifications. If you are physically installing, inspecting, or removing shoring systems and have been qualified previously, this course is essential to maintain your essential training qualifications.
Those who have not undertaken this task since their INITIAL
training course and/or have not carried out these physical tasks in many, many
months should NOT attend this specific refresher course. Instead, delegates
should be booked onto a 2-day INITIAL training course here.
