This is done by assessing the delegates individual ability in relation to these standards, allowing them to oversee operatives involved in the selection, installation, inspection and maintenance of equipment in explosive atmospheres.

- Appropriate Maintenance and feedback to the ‘system’

Assessment:
Delegates will carry out an assessment the contains multiple-choice questions and an applied knowledge exam covering the Ex14 unit in full.
Delegates who are in a senior supervisory role including duties such as being responsible for managing staff, processes and procedures regarding potentially explosive atmospheres, electrical and non-electrical (mechanical) equipment, protective systems and installations.
Prerequisite:
- HNC or equivalent qualification
- A general understanding of relevant electrical engineering, with the ability to read and evaluate engineering drawings
- A basic knowledge of quality assurance practices, such as the principles of auditing, documentation control and traceability
- A letter of endorsement from your employer confirming the delegates current or intended roles as a Responsible Person/Duty Holder.
Upon successful completion, delegates will be awarded with a CompEx Certificate in Core Competence.
