18th Edition - Requirements for Electrical Installations Course FAQs
About the 18th Edition
Q1. What is the 18th Edition?
The 18th Edition is the latest version of BS 7671, a British Standard by the British Standards Institution (BSI). It's essentially a set of guidelines electricians follow to safely design, install, inspect, and test electrical systems in domestic, commercial, and industrial settings.
_________________________________________________________________________________
Q2. Why is the 18th Edition important?
All electrical work in the UK must comply with British Standard (BS) 7671. Following these regulations reduces the risk of electric shock, fires, and faulty wiring. Compliance is essential for professional practice, and most employers and accreditation bodies require up to date knowledge of BS 7671.
