Pesticides are widely used in agriculture and horticulture, but they can be potentially harmful substances, so a thorough appreciation of safe working practices is vital.
- Identify and describe how granular applicators work
- Prepare and set up granular applicators
- Choose and use the correct type of applicator for a given product and situation
- Set and check the application rate for an application
- Fill the applicator accurately and safely
- Operate the applicator safely and efficiently
- Decontaminate the machinery safely
- Service the machinery
- Select the correct PPE when using granules
- Clean and store machinery correctly
- Accurately record information
Any delegate either employed in, or looking to be employed in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping or grounds maintenance, who is responsible for the storage, handling and application of pesticides.
Due to the nature of the training a minimum level of fitness will be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage you as a learner, it is an essential requirement.
You must hold PA1 foundation pesticides qualification before taking this course.
Upon successful completion of the course delegates will receive a LANTRA accredited certificate. City & Guilds Registration can be arranged at additional cost. For the City & Guilds certificate an additional exam will need to be completed which will be arranged during the training. There will be an additional cost for this certificate.
