To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate and maintain Pedestrian Mowers. This is a hands-on course that delivers both practical skills and health & safety guidance.
- Identify the risks associated with the use of different types of pedestrian mowers
- Select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Identify the controls and components
- Carry out daily checks as indicated in the operator’s manual
- Carry out pre-start checks
- Identify and report any faults
- Adjust the cutting mechanism to achieve the required standard
- Operate the machine in a safe and competent manner
- Perform after-use maintenance
- Load and transport the machine (if appropriate)
Any delegate either employed in, or looking to be employed in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping or grounds maintenance, who is or will be required to operate pedestrian mowers.
Due to the nature of the training a minimum level of fitness will be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage you as a learner, it is an essential requirement.
Upon successful completion of the course delegates will receive a LANTRA accredited certificate. City & Guilds Registration can be arranged at additional cost. For the City & Guilds certificate an additional exam will need to be completed which will be arranged during the training. There will be an additional cost for this certificate.
