This course is split into two modules Driver Risk Awareness and Fuel Efficent Driving.
The ‘Driver Risk Awareness’ module is designed to reduce the delegates exposure to risks and accidents. The course will provide delegates with a wider knowledge of the risks they face on the road and how important it is to reduce incident factors such as distractions, mental wellbeing, and fatigue.
The ‘Fuel Efficient Driving’ module teaches drivers about the key elements of fuel efficiency and provides delegates with the necessary tools and techniques for a more fuel-efficient and safe driving experience.
This course contains two modules and includes the following topics:
Driver Risk Awareness:
- Collision rates
- What causes risk to drivers
- Speed awareness
- Observation and concentration
- Driver distractions
- Approaching hazards
- Weather conditions
- Mental wellbeing
- Manoeuvring at low speed
- Drink/drugs and driving
- Fuel economy
- Smart motorways
Fuel Efficient Driving:
- Why is fuel efficiency so important?
- What to do before you set off
- What to do whilst out driving
- What to do when back at base
This course is aimed at those looking to obtain their Driver Qualification Card (DQC). This course will count 7 hours towards your mandatory 35 learning hours that you require for the DQC. This course is suitable for those who hold either a HGV or PCV license. The ‘Fuel Efficient Driving’ module is recommended to employers to help manage employees fuel intake whilst in the workplace.

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be
presented with a printable certificate of competence that will last 5 years. To
obtain your Driver Qualification Card (DQC), you must complete 35 hours worth
of driver CPC modules.
Once you have completed all 35 hours of CPC modules, DVLA will issue your card automatically.
