You need to be aware of:

- Typical asbestos products and where they were used in the buildings.
- The lesgislation which places a duty on building managers to protect you from exposure to airbourne asbestos fibres.
- The steps you must follow to minimise your risk of exposure.
The course is divided into the following sections:
Section 01, Introduction to Asbestos: This section will present the general implications of asbestos exposure and the groups of workers who may be affected.
Section 02, Asbestos Facts: This section will introduce you to different types of asbestos along with their properties.
Section 03, History of Asbestos: In this section, you will be given a general history of asbestos, its sources and its uses.
Section 04, Asbestos Applications in Buildings: This section will give a detailed explanation of how and where asbestos was used.
Section 05, Health Effects of Asbestos Exposure: This section will explain how asbestos damages health and what the consequences can be.
Section 06, Legislation: This section will inform you about asbestos legislation and the way it works with other health and safety legislation to protect you from exposure.
Section 07, Duty to Manage: This section will guide you through 'The Duty to Manage Asbestos' legislation and tell you how to comply with it.
Section 08, Final Assessment: At the end of each section there are Knowledge Checks (not scored). At the end of the course there is a final assessment test which will be scored and you must pass the test to obtain the certification.
