Educational Objectives:
Candidates will have a detailed knowledge of the approved methods for sampling airborne asbestos and MMF. Candidates will know the methods used to inspect and test an enclosure for asbestos clearance.
Assessment:
Candidates will undertake a practical assessment carried out by an independent assessor. As part of this, candidates must demonstrate their ability to inspect enclosures, use PPE and set up air sampling equipment. They must also demonstrate a full knowledge of the four stage clearance procedure (except the sample evaluation covered by P403) and show their ability to carry out all relevant calculations.
Examination:
A 30 multi choice question exam paper (45 mins) will be undertaken on the final day of the course. This exam will be independently invigilated by BOHS and is subject to a separate BOHS exam fee.
Certification:
BOHS P404 Proficiency Certificate in Air Sampling and Clearance Testing of Asbestos

To comply with the requirements for the 4-stage clearance procedure, this module must be studied in conjunction with BOHS P403 “Asbestos fibre counting (PCM). Discounts available for multiple course bookings.
