This course has been developed for potential and existing ‘responsible persons’ who have received no formal training and for those requiring refresher training in the safe use of lifting equipment. The one-day programme provides delegates with the skills and knowledge to operate, inspect and maintain lifting equipment. It also offers an overview of the law relevant to lifting equipment, safe working environments, safe operation, periodic inspection and certification of equipment.
The course will be tailored to meet client requirements and can be undertaken on-site or at one of our dedicated training centres across the country. We can work closely with you
before, during and after the course to ensure it meets your specific needs. Practical sessions can be adapted to suit the equipment of your choice.
Consideration will be given to:
PUWER (The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998), specifically the provision of work equipment and its safe use:
- The nature and degree of risk associated with equipment and its use
- The means available to reduce risk
LOLER (The Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998), which applies over and above the requirements of PUWER for lifting equipment and lifting operations:
- The planning, supervision and execution of lifting operations to ensure safety
- The safe use of lifting equipment
- The periodic examination of lifting equipment by a competent person
