Asbestos AwarenessDesigned to increase the general awareness of asbestos within the working environment. NATAS awareness training is supported by the HSE and endeavours to install a sufficient level of awareness to those that can either potentially be exposed to asbestos containing materials during the course of their daily working activities or generally need to improve their knowledge of asbestos. Asbestos E-LearningThe Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, identify three levels of asbestos training; Category 1 training is required for all personnel engaged in the asbestos licensing sector, Category 2 for those involved in non-licensed asbestos works and Category 3 for those persons who require awareness only. The rock fibre, asbestos was commonly used for fire proofing and insulation in buildings from the 1950's to the 1980's and tend to be found in ceilings, floors, textured coatings, floor tiles and textiles as well as cement products. Asbestos fibres are safe unless airborne, which occurs when materials are damaged and the risk is higher in older buildings. Building maintenance workers who do not wish to work with asbestos, legally require awareness on the dangers of asbestos and steps required to avoid exposure during their work activities. E-learning is the perfect medium for delivery of this awareness training. It's a cost efficient and versatile way to inform people who perform jobs that may carry a risk of contamination. |
